Cheap home untrasonic cleaning kits at Maplins
Spotted these as looking to clean up some carbs, any one used them, are they any good??

Can't comment on the performance of that unit but it would have to be a small carb to fit inside? Might be worth paying the extra for the 2.5lt
version ?

I bought a similar model from Maplins a few years ago and I have to say it was a huge disappointment. Very, very slow to clean anything.

I've used these to clean rifle cartridge cases. As mentioned above, they take forever to have any effect. I'd save your money.

We use similar units at work to clean the smaller carbs on stone saws etc.
As above - I've always found the results to be disappointing - not very quick to clean and they don't clear even obvious crud at the
first/second attempt.

I have one from ALDI that looks the same (but was very cheap!), not to bad, depends what your expecting, I place a tub (margarine) inside the water
bath then use paraffin to strip oil and crud from old bike parts. It is slower than the commercial units, also it's not big enough for any
thing large, after all it supposed to clean glasses and jewelry 
Paying someone with the correct kit might be cheaper (and more effective) if it's a one off.
