long shot - anyone willing to TIG weld thermostat housing for me?

before I'd attemt to MIG weld it, anyone willing to TIG weld a crossflow thermostat (aluminium alloy) for me? Be willing to pay £ 10 or thereabouts - can haggle.

The flange of the 'stat has be sawn off. I will make a distance piece from 3 or 4 mm thick aluminium, 10 mm in height that will sit in between the water outlet and flange.

The ring will need to be joined to both parts and need to be water tight under cooling system pressures.

I know, it is a long shot but any volunteers?

Here's the guy you want...

www.evalution-designs.co.uk

He welded a threaded boss into my (now Daniel Mason's) R1 thermostat.

I've used him a few times and have been very impressed!

Could you make a simple spacer block between the head and the existing stat housing to space it out. A standard gasket either side should seal it up OK provided you start with a flat piece of material.

well that was plan A with another thermostat housubg (fiesta) - this one cannot be rotated as the rocker cover gets in way of the lugs.

the other fiesta housing is top filler - but since I have lowered my engine, I can use original set up as the filler on the radiator is highest point.

otherwise I would need to replumb the cooling.

i am trying to reduce the amount of rework but no matter what I do, there is something else thrown into my path to trip me up, I am not even gonna mention the exhaust manifold fouling the chassis
