They do seven style rads in different depths worth ringing them there very helpful normally have a stand at stoneliegh I think the rad I bought for my striker was 55mm sorted my cooling issues with my car which I used on track and the road on there website it’s the polo derived radiator

Golf std rad, been using one for years without any probs 2.0 Zetec www.adrad.co.uk/prices/prices.php?type=radiator&id=VW334&model=GOLF&make=VOLKSWAGEN £30.09 posted.

I used the golf one at first but it did not have an 8 mm air bleed pipe exit at the top of the rad which caused me a few issues clearing air from the system. After 12 months changed to a Polo rad which did. Beware there are lots of different types of rads fitted to the polo for the different engines and ages, the main difference being there are two different core sizes for the cooling area, you want the larger one.

Hi ya,

What is the core size of the bigger one and is there a way to tell the difference between the small and larger one?

Many thanks!!!

Not doing the research for you - have a look at the sellers web site posted previously and find out what the sizes are, there are only two

the_big_1 - 31/3/19 at 05:29 PM

Hi ya,

Sorry for the questions.
I did do as you say but found more than two hence the questions.
I found the also the following for Polo.

380 mm x 320 mm
430 mm x 320 mm
627 mm x 377 mm
648 mm x 326 mm

As well as many different heights.

Cheers,

Honestly don't recall the dimensions, but I used a 2nd hand Polo rad on my 2.0 Pinto engined MK Indy. Kept it perfectly cool and fitted just fine in the MK nose cone as well. I used the car on the road not the track, but it never got close to over heating even sat in heavy traffic on a hot day.

the_big_1 - 2/4/19 at 07:14 PM

Hi guys,

Managed to get one that most seem to use, just working on how to install now etc.

So now I guess its header tank time as previous ideas had a rad cap.

Does the standard polo one with the blue cap work, is it a pressure release cap??

Cheers all!!!

nick205 - 3/4/19 at 04:20 PM

Vauxhaul Astra (probably mk2) expansion yank on my 2.0 Pinto MK Indy. Pressure relief cap and it worked perfectly with the rad, keeping everything cool.
