All car engines should have water temps around the same. Below 100 and above 75.
I think my BT, which is essentially the same as a ST is around 85-90. My oil runs quite hot though when on track at about 110

my 16v 4age has a 82 degree thermostat in it.
Make sure you get all the air out as they are prone for air traps and getting hot!

My fan is ECU controlled and I think it kicks in at 95. You certainly don't want the water getting over 100.

jack it up at the back as high as it will go and pull the hose of the back of the head when the water doesn't drop any more. once it stops
dropping, lower it, run for 1 min then do the same again.
Did this with mine at the weekend and put twice as much water in it than before!
The 20v cooling system is easier than the 16v though and not so prone to air traps

Ok used my 4 post lift and jacked the rear right up and nose as low as I could get it, pulled the top little heater hose off the back of head.......
no water then a few seconds later it started to pour out I think that was the air lock ? Anyway put it back together and run car 4 a min and
repeated and the water poured out as soon as I removed little top hose ran the car 4 about 40mins and now sitting at 82-88 fan cuts in at 88
Should I repeat once cooled down ??
Thanks guy 4 the help

glad it worked! When I took the hose off the back of my head I had to put another 2 litres of water in before anything started to come out! Sounds
like you have the air out now. But would not hurt to re-check it to make sure.
