Shocks are as stated in book + 1 inch extension.

Gaz, Protech & other makers will know exactly what you need for the Haynes Roadster.

Plenty of Roadster owners report having used 14" open shocks from either Protech or Gaz with no problems - I'm just about to buy some and will be getting 14"s.
