I done a website !
clairetoo - 28/1/14 at 08:36 PM

I keep getting asked about my Mx5 V6 conversion stuff - and last night a friend (who's near finished Mx5 V6 is on my drive....) pointed me towards a fantastic free website builder/host .

So.......here it is !

Its my first try at something like this - there is still more to add , but let me know what you think

Claire,
Great to see you still spannering away! Your adaptation to MX5 box is the sh*zznit! I will continue to bring
popcorn! Your work took me into a very different direction on my LC7 journey.

Bye the bye, is this the official notice that Crapengineering is up and running with yourself as CEO, fitter, welder,
floor sweep? Congratulations!
As many MX5's that may benefit from the klze, there are a bunch oF RX7's and RX8's stateside that want repowering:
I suspect the E15(15% alchohol blended into gasoline) may be huge contributor to many seal failures. That said, I have
driven a friends RX8, repowered with a Chevy LS motor; yes, it will light the tires in any gear! The first turn at speed put my heart in my mouth; heavy understeer with any throttle encouragement, and poor road feel. I'm sure some of this is a
setup that needs more dialing in as the power steer was "depowered", the front end of the car gained 70-80 kg. This is a
big swap over hear- but they haven't tried the kl. I wil bet on the V8 car in a straight line, but any turns and it's a new deal!

That's some excellent work and a very well laid out web page.
What a lot of work has gone into that conversion.

Damn....thought I'd found all the duff spelling

As far as I can see , to get the hyperlink thingy I would have to pay..........trying not to do that !

Edit - just worked out how to add video ! Check it now

9miss0informed and the plural of pulley is pulleys not pullies - a few apostrophies missing but nothing that detracts from a petrolhead reading it, just the grammar Nazis

video's awesome (must admit it was already bookmarked though )

I've been half following your conversions on and off over the years with some interest although I've tried to avoid reading too much because I just knew I'd be hooked!

Fantastic sound and power by the looks of it, just what the mx5 has always been missing.

Nice job Claire, but where is the link to the price list? :-)

GRRR - 29/1/14 at 12:46 PM

Definitely some non-crap engineering going on there!

so does the flywheel sit on a spacer between it and the crank? Did you use longer bolts or double up on the bolt pattern? Is there a spigot bearing in the new setup?

Great stuff Claire, I hope it brings you more orders!

Mine in the Indy is still going well, hope to get around more in it this year.

You need to change the name... I get the joke, but there's nothing 'crap' about your work.

The flywheel sits on a spacer with longer bolts - the spigot bearing is in the flywheel on the KL (same as the Mx5)
