Xflow Cooling Help

Hope to pick the collective knowledge, I have changed my Rad to a Polo Rad. The Rad is lower than the Thermostat housing which has vent pipe and a vw expansion bottle on the bulk head, now do I blank the top pipe on the rad or do I use a Tee piece and connect top pipe of rad to the thermostat and then to expansion bottle

I blanked the top of the rad (the small on on the side)

I had a thermostat housing with pressure cap, so no expansion tank.

I just had the small outlet from the thermostat housing venting to the ground incase of overspill.

Never had any real cooling issues, used to run at around 90-95 on a warm day and fan kept it below 100.

No functional difference what ever is easier and neater.

Thanks for the help I was worried that the small pipe being higher than top hose there might be air trapped at the top of the radiator.
