Car transport from Cambridge to Carlisle
trextr7monkey - 23/11/15 at 08:58 PM

It's a while since we have moved any projects and latest acquisition could be thirsty on a long haul. Can anyone recommend an economical car transporter for a Tr7 V8?
Cheers

Sorry about the C for car post caused by big fingers on little phone - I thought I had caught it by hitting the edit button!

Shipley is probably the best bet.... but by the time you have paid a chap with a trailer to move it you may as well have paid for the petrol to drive it home... assuming it moves

Yes it moves and is insured and Short Mot would need taxing and has a sticky carb which was the logic behind getting it home to investigate rather than on the hard shoulder of the M42 or M6.

RAC etc, if it starts to struggle just call them and get it recovered to your home.

I had "Transports Virgil" bring my Seven from the UK (Ilkeston) to Lisbon, Portugal. He did a great job and had the best price for a door-to-door service. This company is based in Bath, by the way, but I guess it's worth a call.

post the job specifics on AnyVan.com

Used it a few times now and had great results.

People will bid best price to do the Job

I posted a chassis as a job on Shipley from Essex to Madrid £150 door to door.

Yep, I've done this before, I have to admit!

Thanks again went ahead with any van . com and a Polish bloke brought it north for a little over £200 which seemed fair as I could have spent at least a day travelling and waiting for trains burning off plenty of fuel and eating like a horse on the return trip

Hi, how did you pay for the car. PayPal or bank transfer. I am in same position at the moment. Collection myself is out the question too far. 7hr round trip. Shiply quotes have arrived just trying to pay for the car with everyone protected

Hi I just sent an old fashioned cheque in the past we worked with a firm who would pick up cars while they were passing and store them back at base until they were heading over our way. From time to time they would pay the guy cash and I would send them a cheque

I had car brought from south coast to Cheshire for £195 all in.
Chaps fully insured the lot.
I will be using him again.
