Compressor (Again)
OK compressor is now working fine except:
As the auto cut out had packed up I bought a new one. One of the features it has is an automatic pressure dump valve which should release the air
pressure when in the off position, which it does. Trouble is that it also does this every time it performs the automatic cut out.
The valve is mechanical and operates when the button on the unit is depressed, which happens both when manually switching off and on auto cut out.
This is not a separate solonoid, just a mechanical linkage. The supply to this valve is via a free line which was available from the tank.
(There is no direct connection between this port and the others on the unit)
I could simply bypass it but that it seems a shame not to take advantage of this function.
Any ideas?

thats normal, it removes pressure from the pump so when it starts up it can gett running before its fighting 50 psi.
FREE THE ROADSTER ONE…!!

as said, it is doing it jobs, it is so the motor does not have to start up under pressure.

Why doesn't it just let the use of the tools, spray gun etc. bring down the pressure?

Do you mean the valve is venting tank pressure ? It should only unload the pressure above the piston in the cylinder, you are missing something
somewhere if it is constantly blowing pressure off. There should be a thin plastic pipe from your cut off switch to the line feeding your tank from
the pump head where it couples into the tank non return valve.
