Modifying a ZZR1100

Hi all,

Embarking on a bit of an adventure with a spare engine we have for the Paradigm and wanted to canvas the LB collective knowledge.
Is the ZZR1100 an easy engine to modify and improve? Is it going to cost more than buying a more modern engine with better power as standard (ZX10 for example)?
If we do go for modifying the ZZR, whats the best course of development and any recommendations on suppliers?

All advice gratefully received!

Matt

I would suggest using a more modern engine, ZX10R, GSXR1000 engines are a fair bit lighter than the old ZZR1100 and in standard form give a reliable 170-180 bhp and another 2000rpm.
The injection systems make the engines easy to start (unlike some ZZR's on flatslides!).
OK there are a fair few sensors and wiring but well worth the change IMHO.

[I have fitted an R1, GSXR100 and ZX14R engines to competition cars in the past couple of years]

Some people can never handle the truth and always try to shoot the messenger instead of taking an honest look in the mirror (its always easier to blame another than to face reality), but secretly they wish they could grow a pair and be the messenger !!!
