HELP!!! Transmission

HELP!!!

I took the top inspection plate off my type 9 gearbox and now the selector shaft wont move, can not get the plate back on etc.
I was following the Haynes gearbox manual and only got to take off cover and select reverce and that was it, shaft wont move!!!!
Anyone in the midlands can help before I have to scrap the box and buy another?

you need to have the selector in the right position to get the plate back on....or it will jam...

Will have to find someone in the midlands that can rebuild the box. One of the spring rings isn’t located either so I guess to needs a full strip down now :0(

If the box is a standard type 9 then it's well worth getting it rebuilt so it has a high first gear as the standard ratio isn't very good for a seven type car. One of the best mods I have done to my cay , recommend BGH Gearteck.

Hi All,

Anyone any idea what the 5th gear nut size is? A lot of forums say 30mm but its bigger than the 30mm socket I have.

Cheers!!!
