7 pin trailer wiring question

I am trying to adapt my US vehicle to be able to tow a UK trailer with the standard 7 pin connector. The trailer is currently not equipped with brakes.

My dilemma: The vehicle wiring has just four pins (most of our taillights have dual filament bulbs).

Trailer wiring has 7 pins:

1. LH indicator
2. Fog - (Not used)
3. Earth
4. RH Indicator
5. RH Tail
6. Brake (Not used, yet)
7. LH Tail

Vehicle wiring has 4 pins:

1. Right stop AND turn - to #4 (RH Indicator)
2. Left stop AND turn - to #1 (LH Indicator)
3. Tail and side lights - Split and to #5 and #7 (RH and LH Tail)
4. Ground - to #3 (Earth)

Does this make sense or am I going to have major issues (such as my brake lights acting like indicators or visa versa)...

You will have issues with this. Can you not split the wires out from the turn and brake and put in the correct place on the 7 pin socket.

Can you access the stop and turn signals before the relays that produce the combined signals?

I'm going to a local Honda dealership to try and find the correct wire loom for the 7 pin. Unfortunately, I don't speak enough German to ask for one.
Pictures, sign language and grunts may get it done...

I can't think of anyway to do this that will 100 percent street leagal in Europe there is also the added complication that you vehicle is likely to be CAN Bus so you will need to use a CAN Bus spoofing relay.

Europe stopped using combined brake lights and turn indicators more than 50 years ago.
All I can think of is you can feed the trailer brake lights from the high level brake light,and the turn indicators from the front wirling.

There really has to be an easier way. The local Honda dealership had no idea. They sent me to a local Bosch repair shop. He is going to do some research and call me back....

The vehicle is a 2011. I'm almost certain that vehicle lighting technology is much more universal than what it once was. They sell the same vehicle in Germany and elsewhere and the lighting certainly looks to be the same. Even the wiring schematics I've looked at...

Very frustrating...

Most vehicles in North America use a 4 wire trailer lighting system, however vehicles large enough to tow a car trailer may be ordered or have an optional 7 wire connection installed.

left stop and turn
right stop and turn
running lights
ground
these are the 4 way plug wires


these are added
brakes, electric brakes
12 volt power supply
auxiliary, sometimes used to power lockout of surge brakes while in reverse

No rear fog

use your four wires to feed relays then take pairs off the relays to make up your seven cables saves messing with the car

May be possible. Is there one lamp for brake and indicators?

Indicator gives flashing red lamp?

Brake pedal gives constant red but if indicator goes on, does it start to flash?

Its not so simple as i thought. Do you have separate indicators at the front, or side repeaters?

My brain hurts. I'm calling it a night and will think about this again tomorrow.

I really want to avoid having to rent a vehicle for this 1300 KM trip!

I would pull out the rear lamps and tap in another set of wires and run a flying 7-pin socket.
