V5 incorrect???
Just got home from France and very pleased to find a V5 and tax disk in the post, and that DVLA have issued an age-related plate, rather than the Q
that they were threatening.
However, the V5 has:
B. Date of first registration: 11 06 1992
B.1 Date of first registration in the UK: 09 07 2009
Is this right? The first date is actually the original registration date of the donor.
Will I have to get an MOT after the first year or will I get the 3 year moratorium that one normally gets with a new registration?
Also, what emissions standard would I be tested against?

Date in the uk is the important one, mines the same and have just got taxed again after a year although did have to fill out an mot exemption form.
I wouldn't worry.

My V5 has both dates the same with age related reg, MOT in 3 years.
You can ring VOSA to check when your MOT is due.

How did you get tax exemption, is it for a disability ?

I think he means MOT exemption.
The V5 in incorrect, it should not have any dates relationg to the donor.

The v5 is correct for kit built cars with age related number plate
You will need a mot when the road tax is due so if you taxed it for 6 months you will need a mot to get further road tax
12 months raod tax then you will also need a mot
some have been able to get away with the mot for 3 years due to the indiference with the people that work there
also for the sake of a mot is it worth not doing when the insurance company would ask when it is not mot'd maybe meaning you are not covered not
worth the risk
The sva is not an mot because on the sva you can have bald tyres and pass as long as they have the correct speed rating and size per axle

If the car obtained a new identity, you changed the frame or 2 of the 3 main parts of the donor, then you get a new identity.
A new identity means a new homologation and that means a new date of first registration.
The only situation where normally those 2 dates differ is if the car is imported... then the second date tells you when the car entered the UK.
what does it say by: year of manufacture?

Hey DRC INDY, I fear you are wrong there...
If you have needed an MOT before 3 years, it is them who have got it wrong. You don't need one for 3 years from the date of first registration,
ie 09 07 09 for nstrug. Regardless if it has a new reg, a Q or age related, the date of first reg is the one to quote.
Most people tax their cars online now, the DVLA check if you need an MOT. Mine didn't for 3 years (age related plate).
