Welcome to the madhouse.

Please can you put your approx location in your profile.

Take it easy in thet Viento, especially in the Damp conditions.
They stick to the road very well. However, they do let loose eventually and usually rather spectacularly.

I wouldnt take mine out in the wet and damp, mainly due to the crap, crud and SALT on the roads at this time fo the year.
As they are lightweight cars, they dont like wet and slipper conditions.
Be patient, take it easy, learn how your car drives, and enjoy it.

Last thing you want is a summer rebuild project when you should be out there enjoying it at its best.

Again.... Welcome.

Geoff

PS... dont be afraid to ask questions, as there is a wealth of knowlege on here

Luego Viento

Hi Guys

I am brand new to the locostbuilders site and must confess dont really think I am capable of building a whole car.

I've been researching sites and looking to buy a Luego Viento for quite a while now, ever since I sold my Westfield which was too much of a squeeze!

Looking for something meaty, but not too meaty as I dont want it to restrict the driving (price of fuel and all), thinking from a 2.9 granada with cosworth tuning, up to 3.5 V8, but will consider anything?

I'm a bit of a tart so it must be clean.

Your thoughts and contact details of where I can get a good one would be appreciated.

Regards
Graham

Might also be worth getting to a few shows and meeting a few Luego owners , you never know someone may be thinking of selling?

Hi Graham,

It would help if we knew what you are expecting or willing to pay for a good Viento,.... you never know it may tempt someone to sell as everything has a price.....well it does in my world anyway lol.

Hi Graham,

You will probably find a reasonable Viento for that sort of money..... but I must say £7k is the lower end of the scale for a nice big engined one, you may get a good one needing a little work though, and obviously winter is the best time to buy one, there was a thread somewhere on here about prices.......maybe worth doing a search.

Good hunting and hope you find the one you want.

Alfie

Hi Graham,

I would think you could pay up to about £9k to £10k for a really nice fully speced well fettled big engined Viento.

I was offered £9k at a rally last year by an enthusiast for my M3 Viento,....... I was sorely tempted to accept but I wanted to use it for the rest of the summer so I said no, he did eventually get a nice V8 for £9k off Pistonheads.

Its not an easy question to answer really as most guys put their heart and sole into the build of their beloved cars and it is like parting with a member of the family for some.

I tried a few before settling on mine, I am 6ft and a fattish git so most were too cramped or a real struggle to get in, but the Viento has loads of room inside and are pretty long so you can work on them easily even with big engines fitted.

The only downside is that they are very wide so you need to check drive gates/garage doors etc before you get one

Regards

Alfie

My Viento is pretty huge, I have managed to squeeze in a set of bucket seats that came out of Subaru. I even have the sliding rails as well. I think there is more leg room in a viento than there is in my golf.
