just signed up...

Hi all.
Been offered a Mac 1 kit. So trying to do some research on them before commiting however seem to hit a dead end of sorts. Does the company still exist? The website is in a state of "update" circa 2008. Ive also been unable to find any info elsewhere.
Thanks

Spoke to Mark on Monday, they are very much alive and kicking.

They're very helpful chaps and great customer service.

Their cars are pretty well screwed together as well.

I would go as far to say that through the many years of moaning ,pointing of fingers and airing of laudry on this site I dont think I have seen a bad word said about MAC 1 Motorsport.

I used to own one (brought second hand so little experience with them direct) and it was a very nice bit of kit.

Welcome to the best unfound site in the world. Do a search for MAC 1 as there have been some great threads on car and company comparisons.

MAC1 cars are generally very good but can be considered a little mainstream in looks and it has been argued some floors with design when you get technical with the geometry and serious track use. I would say that you would have to be a serious drive to notice though.

Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

Thanks again . The kit is a zr, so the more basic of kits from what i gather, designed for the zetec/pinto engines.
Would be getting it as a long term project, but for weekend and the odd track use.

Another unreserved recommendation for Mark and Col from me. I bought my car built from someone and Mark and Col couldn't have been more helpful, from before I even went to look at it, to any time that I have needed help in understanding how something works or needed parts.

Give them a ring and I'm sure that will give you the right idea...
