pressure regulator
air pressure regulators..
is it possible to get a pressure regulator for air, that will track another pressure.
so that you could in theory have your set pressure say 1 bar above at all times
i need to be able to put air into a pipe at work, at a set flow regardless of the pressure in the pipe
pipe pressure varies from maybe 4 to 8 bar
at the moment we have a needle valve, and suffer from a drop off in flow as the pressure increases
think something similar to a fuel regulator for the injectors on a turbo/supercharged car works in a similar way ?

I think you may be looking for a pilot operated regulator. Takes a feed from the pipe to stabilise and keep constant the flow you require. Remember
that flow and pressure are two different things.

thanks for that.
i realise that flow and pressure are different, but for a given hole and a constant pressure drop you get a constant flow

Mks flow regulators are very accurate and robust. You will need a plc to control
Cheers!

plc isnt an option,
i know its do-able purely mechanicaly

Something like this maybe? You don't mention size/volume so this is quite small.
PRESSURE COMPENSATED FLOW CONTROL
A call or email to the technical support at Parker, Norgren or SMC should also sort you out.

looks a possibility.... we are looking at up to 10l of air a min
