Build your own Single Seater Racecar
T89 Designs can now offer full sets of the plans for the Single Seater Locost.
The T89 - Single Seater Locost (SSL) is a true home build Single Seater Race Car following in the tradition of Allan Staniforths Terrapin combined with the accessibility of Ron Champions Locost. Based around the ethos of Simplicity, Accessibility & Adaptability it is designed to allow the Home and Budget Builder to move into Single Seater competition in Sprints and Hillclimbs and circuit racing categories such as Monoposto.
A self-jigging steel spaceframe is fitted with largely “Off the Shelf” suspension components, a robust Bike Engined Car (BEC) drivetrain and simple aluminium or carbon fibre bodywork, all familiar to any kit car builder. This means a car can be built in a garage for ~£5k.
Every part of the car is fully designed and considered, over 120 drawings show exactly how to make every single component and assemble them correctly. A complete part list includes details of all ~250 components required to build the car with quantities, cost and suppliers all listed.
The highly adaptable chassis allows for the use of a range of donor engines with space for everything up to V4 and I4 >1300cc motorbike engines.
T89 Designs also provide support throughout your build offering a drawing replacement service and free updates to existing customers. We can also help with design changes to adapt builds to customers specific needs.
You will receive an A3 folder with ~200 pages of drawings, information and pictures as well as a personalised chassis plate for your car. All customers will be provided with a dedicated e-mail address for build enquiries and we will attempt to help everyone as quickly as possible.
