innovate lc-1 sensor position

Got a bit of a problem....
The boss in my exhaust is only 5/8 " tall
Innovate recommend 1"
So the tip of the probe will be properly in the gas flow rather than on the edge
Am likely to kill my new probe?

Bit of a pita to remove and put a new boss on

I have burnt up a couple of sensors due to this, can you not pop a thick washer on it?.

I ended up making an extension which cured things with the sensor up close to the manifold, if it's 24" away from the head it may be okay.

Will run out of sensor thread before I get it where it should be.....

Get an adapter made that screws into current bung, then sensor screws into that?

My sensor boss is about 1/2 thick. Not burned up any sensors in 20K miles, 1 ft from the turbo.

There are Spark Plug "Extensions" that use the same threads.
Also there are dedicated O2 Sensor extenders.

Does it matter if the sensor end is maybe 1/2" outside the exhaust diameter? I can make an adaptor
Guess it will slow response a bit?

I’ll check in the morning, I think i have an unused weld on boss from innovate...

I have the proper boss, just the wrong one on the exhaust
Welder is bust at the moment, and don't want to take the manifold off
