Scrapping engine

Hi

I have a couple of old Fireblade engines (knackered) that came as spares when I bought my MK over 10 years ago. Finally decided to get rid as they're taking up valuable workspace.

One is a full block with engine number drilled. Other is just case halves with an MK engine number stamped.

If I take these to a scrapper to weigh in will they refuse them without number, will they want history or will they just take them? If not what's best to do with them? Don't have time to strip the engine but have harvested covers etc to eBay.

Cheers

doubt they'd care, though suspect weighing in is optimistic cash wise
else dump them in the snap metal bin at the local tip

If you're considering just ditching them I'd say try the scrap metal place. Ally is still around £1 per kilo I'd guess but obviously you've got a nice heavy crank etc in there so they'd have to pay a mixed price

I got a tenner for a R1 head with bent valves but took the cam cover and cams off first. Was only got to throw it anyway so worth it to me as was passing

To get the best price you'd need to strip them down to each different type of metal.
The only things worth weighing in are made of alloy, the steel etc is worthless.

Have a look on ebay, people still buy bits like that.

Make stuff out of them? little tables, candle holders, lamps etc
