TPS fitting advice please

Does the TPS have to be fitted to the carb throttle spindle? Ive heard of people fitting it to the throttle pedal, i guess this is the same difference.

My megajolt came with loom and TPS pre-wired. it has a long spindle but quite a small OD. Looks like fitting might take some sussing out.

Reason i ask on fitting is that im fancying the idea of fitting maegajolt first before fitting new bike carbs to help with possible fault finding (ie change one thing at a time). Fitting TPS to throttle pedal would mean i dont have to fit to 38DGAS forst and then to bike carbs later. Whilst im sure most people will agree with the principle, would you recommend changing to megajolt first or put the new carbs on first?

Iv got my TPS mounted on a bracket and a pulley which is operated by a second cable off the carbs if that makes sense.
