Does anyone know if theres a firm/person out there who can make identical wingstays to the caterham ones for 13/14 inch wheels? Hopefully ive linked a picture below.

Cheers

I have a pair of birkin ones, they should be identical to the caterham ones at the upright end, but differ at the wing end (flat bar not round tube).
I can dig them out and measure up if it's any use, iirc they're for 13" wheels and triumph type uprights.

Dave, thanks for the reply matey

If its not too much hassle could you get some dimensions? Ive got a very odd ( may not be but i cant get my head around it) hub assembly on the roadrunner racing SR1. Im told its a MK2 escort set up but dont think it is

I will try and get a few pics up. The nearest wing stay ive seen is the caterham one. The previous owner got rid of the standaard wingstays and made some ali ones but they flex way to much and look terrible....

can’t help with the front wing mounts but love the car - is this kit still available and is it road legal?

Looks a lovely car

But how can anyone think those wing stays are acceptable?

I agree about the wingstays!!!! The guy before me was a retired engineer and replaced literally every nut, bolt, piece of heavy metal with ali/titanium to save weight........as i believe he thought the claimed weight of 360kg is too much

Craig, yes the car is road legal. I think they made only 15 of these cars. They still supply most parts for the car however i dont think they make the chassis anymore, but probably could as they still have the plans.

that must be intimidating seeing that in your rear view mirror!

Having seen your pics, the birkin ones are mounted differently as they pickup on the upper caliper bolt and the top of the upright - thinking on it the birkin uprights are triumph (caterham) geometry but differ in construction.
I've uploaded a few pics and measurements that may be of use, the last pic is a birkin setup which has an extra mounting going to the axle pin nut and slightly different uprights to the car my brackets came from.

Your front uprights looks like mk fabricated uprights, i don't whether Martin Keenan may still have patterns for cycle wing brackets to match or can point you to someone who has.

Dave, cheers for those pictures and measurements. Ive had to take the plunge and order a pair from caterham and hope they fit! £140 ish for a front pair! Howeveer they look decent and if they do fit i reckon they will be just fine

They probably are MK uprights as Martin Keenan was i think a founder of RoadRunner Racing.
