Replacement for Goodwood festival of speed
obr_technology - 14/1/18 at 07:49 AM

Morning All!

I've been to Goodwood for years now and as much as I love it we are looking for something different this year.

Can anyone recommend anything please?

Thanks

Olly

Crystal Palace Sprint on the last Bank Holiday in May. Sort of a clubmans FoS

Silverstone classic.

I second Silverstone classic or Goodwood Revival...

Depends where in the country you are http://www.cpop.co.uk

Cheap day out, racing from 10am to 6pm, race every 2 minutes, open pit lane. Santa Pod Easter bash or September european finals (that’s when the top fuel boys run). Great day out for around £35.

Thanks guys, I'm in Somerset but my mate who I go with is in Nottingham so Goodwood was never ideal but worth the drive.

Has anyone done the donnington historic festival?

Try the Silverstone Classic. Lots of track action and a chance to get really close to the cars.

I went last year and although it's a fair drive from
Scotland it was definitely worth the trip. So much so I am going again this year.

Try Cholmondely in Cheshire if it's on this year. I've been a few times and it can be great.

I,ve been to Silverstone a couple of times, you do not see a lot of racing as they just go by, you can walkabout the pits so an interesting day out.

Thanks everyone.

I'm looking for the off track stuff probably more if I'm honest as that is what I've enjoyed most at Goodwood.

Seriously thinking about Donnington historic on the Saturday, few beers Saturday night in Nottingham and then Stoneleigh on Sunday or Monday as it's all the same weekend.

Gurston Down will not be too far from you and that's a nice car day out. Can't remember that I used to pay but it wasn't much. Obviously not a festival but I really enjoyed spending the day down there.

Been to GWFoS a few time, good day out, but likewise fancy something different. My 12 and 10 year old sons are also keen to see things too.

Santa Pod has been on my list of "like to visit" for a while now - might have to investigate further for this summer

Was at Santa Pod2016 for the Dragstalgia festival.
Was excellent (was red hot though so that always helps).
