help what does this box do?

[img]15873042_10155647670859377_2469826905735265522_n.jpg[/img] have a black box with 4 wires 3 to revcounter and one not going anywhere need to wire rev counter to zetec what is the black box ?.blue black and red go to rev counter and yellow is loose

Could be a pulse converter. Was rev gauge intended for a different engine?

engine was a zetec but had different ecu omex i think

That would be my guess too.....are there any markings / company name on the printed circuit board?

The big power transistor suggests that it could be a shift light. Two supply wires, one pulse input and one output to shift lamp.
