flashers

Hi just had a mot test Friday the tester told me the flashers do not flash quick enough, has anyone got any ideas please to sort, many thanks.

Get a fixed rate electronic flasher relay from the Bay of E.

Similar to this 3 pin unit. Ebay number 172692254228

Did he check the indicators with the engine running? Might also be worth checking the charging rate?

Hi yes he did check with engine running, the charge rate is a bit low 12.5 volts so my next job to check alternator charge or fit new one, thanks.

You'll probably find that with the charging rate corrected the indicators will work correctly

At 12.5 v it isn't actually charging at all , low battery voltage and a slight high resistance in the lamp unit earth are enough to slow the flashers down.
An electronic flasher unit will fix it but fix the alternator and check for voltage drops in the wiring.

Hi thanks for the help first thing will do is fit new alternator, fully charge battery and take it from there, regards.
