engine bay loom requirements!

Gents – What is the preferred SVA method to clip the loom in the engine bay ?

Thanks!

...as long as it keeps the wires away from anything that will melt the insulation, chafe the wires, or generally snag and break them. Also they shouldn't flap around (to prevent fatigue fractures) and they shouldn't rub against important things like brake pipes, fuel lines, etc.

As a bonus, if the wiring looks really neat then the SVA inspector will feel more kindly disposed to the whole car during the test.

I used spiral wrap to cover my loom - very neat result and well-protected - but a total PITA if you need to modify the wiring. Split convoluted plastic tube seems to be the simple choice.

rgds,

David
