cross flow coil

Ok some questions now

1. do you know how much current the coil drawers

2. The coil has three connections 1 goes to the disrupter 2. Is the supply to the coil 3. Comes from the ignition timing system. My question involves 3 do you know if this wire is usually live i.e. 12V and drops to 0V to cause the spark or is usually 0v and jumps to 12v to cause the spark.

My understanding is the 12v is constantly live on the 2 smal wires with the ignition on.
The points open... thus breaking the circuit and dropping to 0 volts on the small wire to the distributor, this then causes the high voltage to be created in the HT lead and causes the spark at the plugs through the rotor arm.
