Lighting Suppliers
Has anyone a contact for lighting supplies. Ideally I would like to fit square headlights like the Dax, the smaller the better.

Is there a minimum size for the diameter of head lights, for SVA and what position do they have to be on the car, height , distance from the front
etc?

If you use a Dax style bumper to mount your indicators and side lights, you can mount the headlights a lot lower. It also means that your front
suspension will not be classed as the front of your vehicle for sva, so you won't have to wrap everything if foam. Apparently the bumper falls
off afetr sva?

A word of caution about the SVC headlights - the nice (expensive) chrome ones.
I bought some at the show, and when I tried to fit them the mounting bolt turned in the shell. Fair enough, I thought, I hadn't located it
properly before I started. Stripped it down, and found that the little tab that's meant to stop it rotating was twisted up. Put it straight
with no trouble at all, 'cos it was just a bit of thin mild steel. Lined it all up, tried to tighten the bolt, and it just twisted again.
Rang SVC, who said that the tab should be spring steel, and asked me to send them back. Did that, and eventually got a call from someone who said
that there's nothing wrong with them. The conversation went as follows:
SVC: "There's nothing wrong - I tightened the nut up with my fingers and everything stays OK"
Me: "It's OK until you tighten it with a spanner - which you have to do, so that it stays pointing in the right direction"
SVC: "But if I tighten it with a spanner I might damage the chrome plating"
Me: "Then you're never going to see the problem!"
[repeat this conversation several times with minor variations until SVC man gets the idea]
He finally agrees to refund my money (but that was 3 days ago, and the refund hasn't hit my bank account yet )
[just checked - the money's in my account, at last!]
The moral is: "just because it's expensive, doesn't mean it's good!"
Now I've got to look around for some more headlights!

Like Nick D, like the look of square headlamps without coughing-up £150.00. i have found some Yamaha bike lights that can use 12v car bulbs thats
nice, does anyone know if the SVA man has anything against bike headlights on a seven???
