Bates headlights
I've noticed some interesting looking headlight units on some motorcycle suppliers' sites.
The are called "Bates" or "Bates-style", come in 5.75" dia, bottom mounted (rather than side mounted) and can be got
E-marked and with standard H4 car-style bulbs.
The only real issue is whether a motorcycle lamp has the same main and dip patterns as a car's headlight - anyone know?
The main reason for looking at these is that they can be quite cheap, especially when you get far away from the kit car world and into the m/cycle
one! The best one I've seen so far was £29 + VAT, but that may have been the highly undesirable 35W/35W non-E model - don't want to
investigate until I know it's worth the effort.
cheers,
David

So...
Anyone actually used them (rather than a friend of a friend)?
And why "Bates"?
