Central Scotland Locost Club ??
As suggested by Seabass in another thread and supported by me I guess. Whaddya think people ?
Is there enough interest ?
what would be our aims ?
As Gizmo suggested before, it would be very easy to organise some exclusive track days at kames. It's a sprint only track, but it was made for
locosts.
Or are we looking for evening meets or organised road runs ?
Or - a bit of all of the above ?
As they say in the best exam questions,

Count me in.....a bit of everything sounds good..
if enough get involved a bit of competitive fun at kames?
maybe elsewhere too?
airfield track at crail?
a trip up north to golspie...a cracking track up there too...waaaaay up north tho...
remember theres a scottish sprint round at kames this weekend

I've already had a good think about how you would possibly have a 'locost' class at sprints. The only thing is, some of us have
Xflows, some have R1 engines, some have live axle, some have IRS. It would be difficult to come up with a class when everything is different. I guess
all you could say is have a book chassis or one from one of the recognised manufacturers - everything esle is free.
To be honest, I would be very happy to have some non competitive days to start with and take it gradually from there.
Keep the ideas coming though

Central scotland here we are meeting frequently at Knockhill top marque evenings are good value not many cars and a growing number of 7 owners
including myself, will be going to cames once car is finished!

If anyone is interested, the lowlands speed championship has started again this year (to late to enter for this year so think about 2005). This runs
rounds at Kames, Forrestburn Hillclimb, and Knockhill. So no need to travel the 200+ miles to Golspie if you don't want to. (I will be, as
Colibriman says it is a cracking track)

by the way colibriman's right golspie is an ace track for locost style cars
the evo and mini's never stand a chance
they do sprints on some weekends
plus i only live 20 miles away

Ecosse, yes. Ecurie ecosse - Scotland's most famous racing team who famously won Le Mans in the 50s. Latterly in the 80s in Sportscar racing and
on a local level at Ingliston in the 80s under the ownership of Hugh McCaig. Ecurie Ecosse means Team Scotland and I had thought of a play on those
words - Ecurie Locost for the URl. See Here for a very brief history. I know most people
probably know a lot of the Ecurie Ecosse story so I apologise if I'm going over old ground here.

The Ecurie Ecosse transporter with a Jag and Healey was at the Performance and Classic show at Ingliston last year. What a piece of kit...

They both sound like french web sites. Can't you think of something Scottish without the french getting in on the act for free. I don't
think there are any locosts or builders in France from reading various lists either. What about www.loscots.co.uk. or something like that? Almost an
anagram there.

dunc - I'm not the most creative, hence my feeble attempt at a suitable name.
Peteff - Your idea works though. I'm sure the people will vote with their opinions, but put my tick in against www.loscots.co.uk
I apologise if my ecurie ecosse idea and subsequent explanation was a bit too obscure.
We could run a poll once we have a suitable number of ideas - if that doesn't sound to organised and 'clubby'
