Escort mk2 loom/sierra switchgear

Hi Gents
I am attempting to wire up a xflow with an Escort mk2 loom and sierra column switchgear.
Does anyone have any advice... drawings etc.
For example, can the sierra switchgear handle the escort loom current or do i need to install relays?
Thanks in advance.
John

hey up mate,

that is the same combo that im running but i took the easy way out and got a premire wireing loom, sent them my serria plugs and they fitted them onto the loom, excerlant service. but if you want to make you own then its worth a call, alan there realy knows his stuff and i cant speak highly enough of him, if you need bits then he will have them at good prices.

good luck

bob

I used the switch gear from an early Sierra, as these work without relays.I did add a relay to turn on the light circuit but didnt bother having seperate ones for high and low beam.I have only been on the road for a couple of weeks but no problems so far.
I think that the later switch gear requires relays as it switches to neutral instead of live.

I heard from MK that they reccommend fitting relays for all lights as the Sierra switch gear will only handle the current for so long.

I bought the MK wiring loom that was supplied with 2 relays, I ended up adding another 4 for the lights (main, dip side and fog)

I have a set of wiring diagrams that I made for myself, I think they're up to date (afteer several revisions).

If anyone wants a set then drop me a u2u with your email address and I'll send what I've got (without any warranty...)

Russell
