R1 Carb - Fuel Level with clear tube on bottom

As mentioned in another thread - I'm trying to ascertain the actual fuel running level on a set of R1 Carbs
The picture in my archive shows that the level using a clear tube on the bottom of the bowl shows that the level is about 9mm above the bowl join.



Can one of you kind fellows do the same check, witha set of R1 carbs and let me know it this right or whether the level should be below the join and by how much?

I've set the floats according to spec using the traditional method, but not convinced!

Sorry David but that link doesn't work.
The issue I have is that if that is the standard R1 Service manual then it is for the bike, which I have read and have set the float heights accordingly.

The carbs on a bike are mounted at a different angle to when they are bolted to a manifold on the side of a car engine, so the check using this method gives different results due to the angle difference

I would like confirmation that the fuel level on a car is below or above the carb bowl join, and by how much.
