Saab 93 engine transfer to locost
Hi guys, you can follow my build in the mid-engined section.
But my question is more in its place over here.
I was pulling the loom out of my saab 93 donor car (2.0T)
and noticed that the Haynes wire diagram is not enough for my purpose.
As I want to use the OEM engine electrics in my locost and can't find any clear info about the alarm system...
or key RFID...
In short... how can I drop the alarm+can I drop the RFID system,
or will I have to glue it to the receiver XD

What ECU are you running? I have Trionic 5 and engine loom only and had to reprogram the ECU to deactivate the immobiliser. Easy to do with the
USB-BDM adapter if you are good at soldering plus you can also remap the ECU.

It is a 2001 saab 93 2.0T, so I think it is a trionic 7... but I saw in both cases I can buy adapters online.
With immobiliser... you mean the RFID key thing or/and the alamr system? (the module under the left front wing).
That module can't stand water i've read... so I am quite keen on dumping it

I only got the ECU module from the breakers, I never saw the rest of the system. The ECU has a built in immobiliser that talks to the other modules.
Using T5Suite I deactivated the internal immobiliser and now it runs with out any of the other modules. Not sure about T7 but I think it is similar.

Not quite relevant but while the engine is out I absolutely recommend you take the sump off and clean it as they have a tendency to get so full of
crap you starve the oil pump

It is that sort of info you get nowhere else on the internet 
I was just going to use a high detergent oil... but now it's comming off
The ECU is a Trionic 7
saab-tuners can supply everything I see.
Ben, how is your experience with the interface program ?
Can you download maps etc? Or is it all raw code

We are out of Saad now but there is a Garage in Carlisle called MGM Motors run by a pair of Saab nuts- its not the usual franchised dealer set up.
They are red hot on electrics and diagnostics to the extent that local garages send them the cars they can't fix so if you phone up politely and
ask to speak to someone about the immobiliser they should put you straight on the right track. Probably best to ring towards the end of the day 5.30
