Identify MX5 switch and ignition?

Bought these off ebay described as MX5 Mk1

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mazda-MX5-MK1-Steering-Column-Switches-inc-ignition-key-/151663715738?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l25 57&nma=true&si=U9rvaaobukTYWABXoMp2N9UXqjw%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Did the MK1 have a sensor like this on it?

Steering lock diameter is miles too big for my 1990 column and the lock slot doesnt go anywhere near the pawl..

Anyone identify what model they are off??

I've got one of each and that looks like my mk2. You will also notice the switch gear is sloppy on the column. Hence why I am getting that mk1 switch gear next week if I can.

Yes blue plug is for the air bag clock spring.

Looks like Ive made a great error.. searching on goggle this may indeed be a mk1 WITH air bag, totally different to MK1 WITHOUT airbag....

Mk2 has the lights and wipers the either way round??

DOH, requested return so we will see what he says..

Thought Id bagged a bargain...

Give me a shout if he won't take it back I have a column it will fit.
I was told both mine where mk1 I assumed one was a mk2 because they are different.

I also have loads to learn on the mx5 differences.

Oooo aye, me as well... obviously!

Does the column you have that they will fit, fit a mk1 rack?

Same stalks as my mk1, although the box on the back is in the dash loom on mine.

I've got two columns, I was told both are from a mk1 but they are different from each other so I assumed I had a mk1 and a mk2 looks like I assumed wrong.

So I have two columns. Both have similar mounts both have the same splines each end one column is a touch longer. The switch gear I've got is the same as yours. The switch gear on the mk1 I looked at yesterday is also the same as what we both have.

Next week I plan to have all the mx5 donor bits I need and will get rid of what's left. I am now seeing the merit in grabbing all the parts from one donor.

watch out for the wiring block connector and double check switchgear wires to harness wires as even with mk2.5 03 stalks and mk2.5 03 harness they didn't match up ###**** ??? spent hours trying to figure out why my lights wouldn't work simply unclipped the connecting pins in one block and swapped around till it made sense and worked.
now fighting with indicators
there appears to be a lot of differences throughout and yes I now wish I could have got a single donor too.. cest la vie
but then where's the fun in making it easy ...........
going out to do a bit more wiring today, not my favourite job I must admit, but each time I get a bit done its a bit closer to being done

Thanks Gary, much more complicated than ford

I've just pulled some more switch gear from a late mk1 and it's the same chunkier column stuff as yours Steve.
