Ztec 2.0 + R6 Carbs And Questions

Hi Guys,

I have a 2.0l Zetec that has R6 carbs fitted. The car runs etc. Will these carbs work ok or should they be re-jetted etc?
There are some pipes not connected, Can you confirm they are and if needed?
Is there a "Choke" for starting??? Also, the cable with a thumb screw, I think is the idle speed adjust. Is this needed or would a screw be ok???
Will upload pic as soon as I can

Cheers!

Hi mate,
They look fairly similar to my r1 carbs.
There will be a choke connection- look for a
Metal slide rail which runs along the whole bank of
Carbs and had connections which pull the choke
On each carb, I made up a small bracket out of
Aluminium and used a simple cable to pull it(
You will only need it for starting)

For fuelling, I think you will find that they are fine
As they are- we went to the rolling road armed with
A dynojet kit expecting to change jets and settings,
But the carbs provided good mixture as they were.
They are pretty sophisticated compared to old webbers etc,

We got 175bhp from the 2ltr zetec and they have run
Perfectly for years of Trackdays now.

For interest, there will be a water connection on the carb
Bank- this was used to run the engine coolant through
When used on the original bike- but for heating not cooling
Sounds backwards to heat the inlet side, but bikes suffer
From carb icing when its cold..

Cheers

Les
