Geared Starter Motor

The Lucas 3M100 starter motor on my 907 has never been too enthusiastic when it comes to spinning the engine over.
As it's a known Lotus fault I thought it about time I installed the known Lotus cure, that is, a geared starter motor.

Made by Wosp, (guess the logo) and bought through Classic Car World it took 23hrs from phone call to delivery,
what I would call excellent service. The performance of the motor is brilliant as well as half the weight. Win win.

A photo; it's the shining clean bit under the air box.

For anyone thinking of a new starter these little beauties take some beating.

That is great service & happy that you are pleased with your worthwhile investment.

Me, I am getting on in years. Pension will be on me soon enough.

I am still in awe of all of this E commerce malarkey.

Recently bought a new TV aerial kit to install in the loft.
Less than 24hs from order to being fitted & watching TV, how cool is that.

A decent starter does make a big difference! I fitted a high torque starter to my Xflow. Has no trouble spinning it over, unlike the original BUT it doesn't really spin the engine over quickly enough. It always starts but takes longer than I would like.

A TV aerial? What's that?
