Exhaust Surround
Thought I'd have a go at making myself an exhaust surround tonight and it seemed to work out not too bad.
I now need to rub it down and polish it but not really an expert in that area (or any area for that matter ) so could anyone tell me what I need to
do, I gues I jut start with coarse emery cloth and work my way down and then polish it, is this right??

Brasso with a block of balsa wood I found worked very well. It brought up a shine very quickly to ally (if that is what your using) Pour a bit onto
the block of balsa and rub! Its a bit messy, with lots of black residue, but wash it off after you have finished and it should be all shiney!

i used wet and dry with oil for lubrication. work down to about 1200 grit, then use autosol on a rag.
it brought my cockpit trim up like a mirror, then i decided it looked too shiny, so brushed it instead

How do you go about getting a decent brushed finish on ally?
My side panels are brushed stainless so I'd like to carry the effect onto bits of trim I've added.
