Help with ignition for Weber req.

Gents – For various reasons I have decided to use a Weber off a 1.6 instead of the Pierburg carb for my 1.8 Pinto. Now I realise that the ignition system is a tad different, for one there is no vacuum chamber on my existing system.

What alterations will I have to undertake for unit to run using the existing wiring system for the Pierburg??? or is it worth the hassle.

Up to now I have been able to work out most things from various sources, but I am lost with the wiring system, which includes the above!!!

Advice will be appreciated.

Thanks

Don't use the carb for a 1.6 on a 1.8 it will be far to restricted & give you all sorts of running problems.

If yours is a 1.8 pinto then find a 2.0gt or twinchoke pinto & use that it will bolt straight on.

If its a CVH lump throw carb & manifold away & replace with weber or similar conversion.

If you get a good twin choke weber conversion then it should have/need little or no wiring at all.
