type 9 fun

hi all, after a long search have got hold of a type 9 at a good price and it now has pride of place next to my workbench.

This may sound like an odd question, but what is the shift pattern for a type 9?

Is neutral between 3rd and 4th as I would expect?

I know it's an odd thing to ask, but it would help put my mind at ease that I've got the right box! Having trouble locating my new 5th gear...

cheers,

Mark

Mark,

Yes, it is a strange question!

However, here goes...

1, 2, 3 & 4 in the conventional 'H' pattern. 5th is to the right of 3rd. When at rest, the gearstick is sprung to sit between 3 & 4.

Reverse is to the left of 1st, but you have to push down on the stick before you can go fully left.

Does that help?

David
