M16 calipers brake hose thread size

I need to get some longer braided hoses made up for the GTA. On full lock the hoses are a bit tight and I don't think it will be ok for IVA. Can anyone confirm the thread size for where the hose screws into the caliper and also joins the copper pipes into the engine bay? My calipers are marked 64326672 so are Girling type 16 calipers for Escort mk2 I think. That said is the thread M10x1 or still UNF?

I thought the m in m16 referred to metric

Pretty sure that the calliper mounting bolts on M16s can be 7/16” UNF or 12mm so would presume the hose thread could be imperial or metric ? In which case the safest way would be to remove a hose and measure the thread

Mine where m10 and I made up a short hard line from the caliper to a tab on the wing stay like the Capri/Escort. The calipers aren’t machined for banjo fittings.

I believe it depends on the age of the calipers, if they are pre mid '80's would be 3/8" if later then M10 x 1.0

Beware; the 2 threads are very similar, a 3/8 male will screw into a m10 x 1.0 female, but not vice versa, if you have an accurate caliper or micrometer, the 3/8 male will measure around 9.4/9.5mm across the diameter of the threads, the m10 will measure around 9.8mm. Your copper lines could be either metric or imperial depending on what someone decided to fit, the imperial unions are normally silver in colour & the females have a rounded taper to the rear of the "nut" the metrics are usually goldish/brassy coloured (cadmium plated) & have a 90 degree sharp back to the nuts

HTH

Failing identifying by any of the above, just take off the old hoses, send 1 to Oli at Furore Products & ask him for the same threads but in the overall length you want, probably about £17/18 a hose at a guess in any colour you want, all stainless fittings & guaranteed for life! What's not to like?

Look at what is stamped on the side of the caliper. M16 have metric fittings, P16 have imperial fittings. Oli made the braided hoses on my Fury and they are lovely

Thanks for input guys. My Calipers are not marked M or P hence my query. I've measured both ends of my current hoses based on Russ's comments. One is 10.05mm the other 9.80mm so I'm gonna go with the M10 fitment. The joiner female section is also brass colour which suggests Metric. Will get some ordered. Cheers and Happy New Year to all on here!
