Quoterack insurance quote too good?
Andy W - 5/3/09 at 07:07 PM

My Indy zx9 cost about £180 agreed value £8k with flux. I've started getting quotes for the MNR zx10, best had been flux £240 value of 12K. After reading a post by omega0684 the other day I tried quoterack had a quote of £132 with highway part of Liverpool victoria. I'm well chuffed with the quote but wondered if any else had any experiances. I don't want to save £100 now which might cost me more later in the event of a claim

A very good question ( but I don't have the answer) However as I'm "at that stage I'm very interested in this thread.

do you mean quoterack?

Jubal - 5/3/09 at 07:41 PM

Insurance never ceases to amaze me. I have recently changed two policies to Flux which I find are underwritten by Highway, which I now discover is part of LV. A company I left two years ago because their pricing for a renewal was taking the proverbial. I have two other cars coming up for renewal soon, no doubt I'll have to go through the whole circus on those too. Pah.

did you speak to gary, he's a top bloke, im just waiting for my paperwork so i can go and get tax! quoterack was £272 cheaper than going with Flux and the xs was £100 cheaper

Bladerunner - 5/3/09 at 07:47 PM

After reading the post I to phoned Quoterack as I am due for renewal. Currently with Flux at £145 Quoterack offered £100. The guy on the phone says his Boss is a great fan of Kit Cars hence the good prices, I will read the small print when the doc arrive, and wioll post if it looks sus.

Yes, it was Gary. Said he would better Flux's quote but I wasn't expecting so much, also said no time limit on supplying a reg no. Seems an extremely good quote. But I'm just worried if things sound to good to be true etc etc

I think 23p a day constitutes some form of credit agreement

COREdevelopments - 5/3/09 at 09:35 PM

84quid!
I think mine cost 350 with breakdown cover with FLUX and i thought that was good, bearing in mind i have claims against me.
also had an agreed value. but thought it was strange how they did not ask for pictures of the car. is it worth asking them if they need any?

sounds like quoterack are getting popular!

AF def wanted pics to get the aggreed value from me

Moorron - 6/3/09 at 01:14 PM

My turn, Flux renewal was 225

Gary was 147.11 and a lot less excess too.

He also does other modded cars so my TINtop will most likley go to them when its up for renewal too.

Seemed very honest over the phone and knew his cars.

The quoterack website I found (www.quoterack.co.uk)just seems to be a service that sends your details to a load of other insurance companies who will then phone you back. They specifically say no quotes over the phone on the contact page.

So who's this Gary bloke and how do I speak to him!?

Filled in form on quoterack website Gary rang me a few hours later.mk indy blade now insured for £105 quid.Job done.

I have filled in the form, and got the call back from one of the brokers, £119 all in.

But before I sign the paperwork, has anyone had through the final papers yet. I am always wary of stuff that seem to good to be true.

Cheers

I've moved over to quoterack from sureterm

i'd taken out a policy with sureterm once i passed sva

obviously due to the last car going up in smoke i knew it might be a bit higher

anyway sureterm quoted £350 fully comp

£200 to highway
£156 to sureturm for stuff!!
and had it insured on chassis number
few days later i called them with the reg number and was told that would be another £15
even thou i'd not recieved my docs yet apart from a cover note

anyway after reading this post i called gary who gave me the same policy with highway exactly the same cover for £215

to cancel sureturn are taking £56 for stuff!
and highway £25 for the cover so far fair enuff

still a few quid in pocket, and i dont feel shafted!
