any rough ideas on insuring R1 indy?

well im getting nearer to the end of the build, and hopefully be ready for IVA within a few months.

now im 21, live in safe area in gloucestershire (good postcode), will be looking at low milage.

as for the car, its a MK Indy R, with a 2008 R1 engine.

just when i took out a layed up policy up with footman james, i was told they don't insure bike engined kit cars to under 25's.

so which insurers/brokers insure under 25's? and any ideas on price?

and please don't tell me it will be impossible, as i can't wait to get it on the road.

cheers

Im sure there will be someone out there that will insure you, but i dont think it will be cheap :-( i think quite a few insurance co's are doing over 25 only.

Im 30, and my R1 powered VortX costs me around the £300 mark

try Footman James, i have been insured with them since 17.

or a said flux will insure you, but they do seem to be expensive on young drivers

I have just spoken to Adrian Flux enquiring about an R1 powered 2006 registered Mk Indy. They said the best they could do for me would be £950.

Insurance companys feel the need to add a BEC loading
why? i just think it's an excuse to ramp up the premium

quote for the ZZR14 i've had so far is £300 fully comp

Does it give you an option for the R1 engine online?

Last renewal of my R1 Fury was £130 and I'm 31, that's agreed value as well, 3k miles, garaged. Played them off against sureterm but even before I did that it was around 160
