I know some companies offer build insurance, but I got mine covered under house insurance as a collective of parts stored on my property in a locked garage! I had to declare certain items etc. and give a rough breakdown, but it is included. This did up my premium by a few quid, but probably not as much as a separate policy will cost.

I just organised build-up insurance for my Mac#1 Worx that I am expecting to receive in the next few days, and I got it from Adrian Flux for £103 which I thought was pretty good. When it is completed and registered then they can transfer the policy to fully comp basis and I just pay the difference in premium. I asked for a quote on what the car will be when finished, Mac#1 Worx ZX10R Turbo with an agreed value of £15k and mileage of no more than 3k miles a year, and the premium I was quoted was £265, which again I thought was very good.
