Unsatisfied Customer

****Controlled Rant Warning*****

Returned home this evening to find my long awaited revised insurance documents (to include registration from January and correction errors identified to them last September) from 2gether.

My happiness was soon reduced to complete frustration and disappointment. The registration was wrong and the policy details were still wrong. aaaaargh!

The only up side is that the policy runs out next month. Irrespective of how cheap the quote is I will not be using them again. There are obviously serious organisational issues as the time delays are significant and the quality of service and the level of professionalism are poor at best.

This is only my opinion and there is lots of chat about impressive service, but this primarily seems to be about the cost of the cover.

If I needed to claim and they haven't got the details right on my policy I am pretty certain I'd be left high and dry.

****rant ends***

OK so who was it?

We dont want to fall into the same trap.

I can recommend Adrian Flux!

I have had great contact and service with them recently. They have changed my details over, been very patient with me giving them the millage of the new car. They then sent me an email as I asked them about track day cover as they dont do it. The road recovery is good on thier policy. They changed drivers with no problem, are insuring me to the ring and back, gave me the best policy including many benifits, emailed ALL of my documents through very quickly, were the cheapest quote I had (on paper im a terrible driver!).

Need I go on!?

And no I dont work for them, but wont go anywhere else.

Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

Please read my ring story:

But if the broker has given the insurance company the wrong registration number (so not the right car).....

And

What if a named driver hasn't been included on the policy even though they are clearly included on the proposal form and they are the one whose had the accident.....

You might ask, but why wouldn't you know the details were wrong? If it takes 6 months, despite at least 3 chasing phone calls, before you receive any amended documents all you can do in the intervening period is take it as read that your request has been dealt with in a thorough professional manner.

I think you can see my point. Insurance companies only need the slightest bit of wriggle room to get out of paying so there certainly is scope here for disaster.

or am I just being picky?

That's intersting because all I seem to see is complaints against Adrian Flux, especially insuring up to the SVA/IVA.

There is only one way to know if an insurance company is any good and that's in the event of a claim.

And I'm sure I'd like my paper work in order from the very first instance. Perhaps cheapest isn't always the best with car insurance and I know 99% of us go for the cheapest.

We had to claim on an insurance policy with Adrian Flux in 2004 and they were superb. For us they have always been the cheapest, year after year. In fact last year they even reduced the annual premium after they'd taken the renewal fee, when I informed them that I'd had a cheaper quote.

I have two cars insured with whatever. This gary chap does a lot of talking and very little doing.I have chased them a few times to correct details which would scupper any claim....nothing gets done.He even tried to charge me £25.00 to correct their mistakes. For my two bobs worth I would chuck em off the site.I think its about time we had an ebay style of feedback for these site sponsors and trade suppliers.

First things First, 2gether are commited to offering good prices, service, policy quality and Insurers with claims management, fact.

Administration - Policies prior to 01-05-2009 would have had manual policies which slowed the whole documentations process down which includes the Insurer MID Uploads. since then we have spent close to £100 000 on new software , schemes and processes that have imporved document issue, speed and schemes 10 fold.

Errors - Kit Cars are of course a non standard non abi coded vehicle, they simply are not listed on software systems. The Schemes that specialists like us build are bespoke and require overiders. There are at times minor errors that occur which can and are easily amended.

Claims Handling - The Insurer panel we used for Kits, Motorhomes, Classics, Super Cars, Modern Classics, Motorhomes and in fact anything niche are of the highest quality and likely to be similar or the same underwriters as other specialists. The Insurers are selected very carefully based upon rates, Flexibility and Claims Handling.

Feedback - We have hundreds and hundreds of Kit car policies alone that are very happy and we deal with many owbers clubs in the specialist sector and im afraid human nature isnt to comments when a customer is very happy. for example myself personally and cannot speak for the rest of the team have quoted 5 locost users today who were over the moon.

Conclusion - 2Gether are as good as it gets in the Kit Car Market currently , there are a few other good providers too. 2gether will offer the lowest figures as we do not operate a high commission or fee structure.

I hope this clarifies a few points.

Thanks - Gary - 2gether
