Advice on this engine please

Hi All

As title says really, would like to know your thoughts on this engine,

[ebay=320916371432]2.0 silver top zetec conversion, zx9r bike carbs, zetec 4-1 exhaust manifold | eBay[/ebay]

sorry don't no how to do linky thing,

thinking of changing the beloved Pinto for a zetec, but not sure about the difference between silver top &
black top, or doesn't it really matter.
Maybe I would be better off buying a brand new zetec there are a couple on the bay at moment,
Any thoughts would be greatly received.

many thanks

Would a Duratec be worth a look? Much lighter, more powerful and the exhaust is the same side as the pinto so less holes left in the body. Might cost a few quid more though- I'm sure someone who has done it could give you a ball park figure

I converted my Indy,from a 2.0 pinto to a 2.0 blacktop zetec.
It was the best thing i ever did.

I have just finished converting my mates pinto to a 2.0 silvertop,
running zx9r carbs and megajolt.
He is also well chuffed.

Go for it,if you could get it for close to that
price,it will be a bargain.

Thanks for the advice guys

Reason i looked at this really was because it seems to have most of the conversion parts included,
like the sump, flywheel etc,

Definitely decided on the upgrade tho' weather i get this one or not.

Thanks again chaps

You wont regret the change and if
you go for a silver or blacktop fitting is
much the same.If you can make your own
mounts, idler, brackets and inlet,it will be much
cheaper as well.

Thanks Andy

My plan was to run the Pinto until October then do the change over winter, giving me plenty of time to gather all the parts needed, or should I say working out which parts I need lol, suppose the 1st thing would be finding a suitable engine then go from there, I've been doing some homework looking back over the posts on this site and I'm sure there will be plenty of help available from all you guys, I've only ever run a pinto so all the ecu's etc are all new to me, I have bike carbs on my pinto so maybe i could use those, from what I've read I would be looking at running it on Megajolt i suppose, so i'll keep building a list of parts then hopefully enough confidence to actually do it myself.
