Bike engined kit cars

Is there a big diffrance between kit car insurance with bike engines and with car engines?

Bike engines used to be cheap because they were judged on capacity.

Unfortunately the insurance companies have worked it out now, so no longer bargain basement.
Car tax is still cheaper though.

If you want detailed costings then phone up with a couple of virtual cars and ask.

Insurance for BEC's does attract a substantial weighting but as kit cars are usually insured on specialist limited mileage policies, the actual cost of insurance isn't that much more than a CEC. I reckon it probably works out at about 50 per year extra, depending on circumstances.

Is that a typo matt regarding car tax being cheaper? I dont know I was just asking?

Regarding insurace. BEC is more but I feel its also due to car value. I personally feel that BEC cost more and therefore cost more to insure.
