Frank Pickles - What a price!

Well, it's that time of year for me. Renewal came through at £287 which I thought was a bit steep (250ish last year). 34, clean licence, F27 Blade. Phoned a few places, 2gether, Sureterm, Adrian Flux, Footman James (would not quote on BEC).

Frank Pickles came in at £110.76, fully comp with £75 excess, limited on 2000 miles which is plenty for me. What a difference in price!

Pickles saved me loads of money this year round too. My insurance runs out in about 3 months so I hope their renewal is just as good as yours!!

Sureterm wanted 400+ from me this year. I had 30 minutes on the phone and at the point they wanted to know about my blood pressure problems (high at that moment and rising) thyroid, skin things I asked if this was the kit car department. He assured me it was and I assured him I was outta there!
It took Frank Pickles 9 minutes to insure me, 200bhp CEC 7 for 5000 miles, and that included paying. £124.

the thing i like most about Pickles isn't just the price, it's teh fact that you can actually talk to them - especially handy when there's issues to resolve ( claims etc).....
the underwriters after my recent 'off' neatly forgot that i had an agreed value, a call to Barry resulted in a swift bout of ass kicking: situation resolved within minutes.
Brilliant service and a thoroughly top guy.

2gether quoted me 330 last month including an agreed value of £15k. Rang them up to confirm the quote this month and pay for it, and they quoted £500+, at first saying that I was barely insurable on a BEC at 25, wow. Tempted to stay with adrian flux yet again as they are so much more realistic and consistent.

Got to add to this post....

just got my renewal through with Aidrian Flux.

Male, 54 yrs old, + missus 55.
Annual miles 5000.
Luego Locost 2.0 redtop.

£194.

Phoned frank - decided I didn't need wifey on, also decided 1500 miles was enough.

£105.

Told Adrian Flux, and they said they would try and match it - with 1500 miles they adjusted the quote to £115.

So - gone with frank pickles.

Moral is - be careful how many miles you quote - it seems to make a vast difference (I also think Adrian Flux were deliberately pushing the requote down to try and win the business back) - I had told them I'd already changed to pickles!
