I bought a TUV approved full face bike helmet from Lidl for £20.
After other comments a few days ago on the same subject, I may change for one with a flip up front.
Still a cheapo though, the roll cage is to protect my noggin.
Maybe a paint ball mask.

A roll cage without a helmet can be more dangerous in a crash, your noggin ends up being whacked by a scaffold pole !

You need a decent helmet that fits well, get hit on the forehead by a bee at 70 will hurt with just goggles on.

I've always assumed that a helmet is the best plan regardless of whether it's a trip to the shops or an attempt at the Silverstone lap record.
