FS: Ginetta G27

For Sale - Ginetta G27

The time has come to part ways with my very much loved Ginetta G27. It was a factory built car in 1996 and is now a very rare car. Typically only 1 or 2 come up for sale each year.

Mileage is 4100, MOY until 29 June 2020. Car is fully road legal. Insurance is £130 for me (limited to 3000 miles, garaged, 10 year ncb, 36 years old)

Im owner number 4 and have owned it since 2014. I was told it was originally owned by a semi famous racing driver, but I can’t remember their name. I have some video footage from back in the late 90’s which features the car It also includes 5th gear’s very own Vikki Butler Henderson in the same race.

The car was in a garage in Cockermouth floods (freshwater) in 2009, where the owner at the time only used the car for the occasion sprint. He attempted to tidy it up and get the car started afterwards but failed. This is where I came in 2014 to buy as a project. At the time I thought it would be an easy quick turnaround with a new engine and maybe some wiring. This is where I went a little overboard and spend the next 5 years carrying out a full rebuild where everything was removed, cleaned, refurbed. The only thing that didn't come off was the main tub from the chassis.

I spent nearly 5 years rebuilding to what I believe is a unique and well spec’ed car. Since then I have used the car for various local shows, and the occasional trackday.

Since getting it finished, I’ve continued with the upgrades and tinkering. Just this year saw its conversion from the old clunky type 9 box to a smooth 6 speed mazda box, which also meant new flywheel, clutch, prop shaft, adaptor plate and starter motor.

Reason for sale, I really enjoyed rebuilding it and had some awesome fun driving it but I have had my time with it and it's time for a change. I have my eye on a GP1 mini too.

As with any car like this, its a raw experience on the road with plenty of power, no traction control or ABS. But get to drive it properly and it comes alive as an awesome piece of equipment

Location is Staffordshire UK, Can of course send further photos and info if needed. Inspection and test drives welcome. Please remember test drives will only be carried out with full insurance cover in place etc.
