Speed of pistons and crank video

couple of nice clips showing the ferocity of piston and crank speed.
the engine is being used as scrap obviously just nice to see folk putting out stuff like this to give you an idea of the speeds involved so you can get an idea of how much oil can be splashed around and how important it is in the first place.

hope the guy who's been doing these videos does not get complacent.

staggering speed of just 700rpm-1000 rpm idle.

even without cylinder oil squirters the amount of oil being forced out from the piston big end/crank bearing surely must cause a hurricane of oil in there. PLAY THEM BOTH AT ONCE FOR GOOD EFFECT

yeah i never considered that when watching the vids. it's floating on oil. lack of oil at anytime and it's game over.
no wonder if oil pressure lights start flashing you've got like 10 seconds to stop lol

the bitch pistons are ragging it everywhere.
hey . i only started watching this sorta stuff on youtube because i'm paranoid with my new built. used h - beams and theres no oil squirters on my block and also got a race baffle oil plate.

anyway... god forbid when they stop making these kind of engines. will be a sorry sight.

If the oil light flashes at high RPM then it's often already too late.

Even on an F1 engine at 20K RPM you're only seeing a peak piston speed of ~95mph. What's more exciting is the fact that that means an average piston acceleration of 1440g (peak much higher). Meaning you 200g piston "weighs" more than quarter of a ton (based on the average).
