How long to disable battery to avoid airbag damage

On a 2008 mondeo, i need to do some body work on the b pillar so need to remove the trim,

as the question says, is there a time limit while airbags are still active, after disconnecting the battery ?

regards

steve

I stripped everything down, disconnected the battery, went and had lunch, then removed the airbag.

I've never bothered waiting. In fact, I've taken them out 'live' plenty of times. Never had one go pop... unless I did it on purpose!!
